Micro-Mosaic Jewelry
This is my collection of vintage Micro Mosaic Jewelry. Mosaic jewelry was produced in the early nineteenth century and became popular in the Victorian era. There are all kinds of shapes and sizes. Brooches, bar pins, pins shaped like mandolins/guitars, mini picture frames, pill boxes, pendants, earrings and more.

Antique Collections

The early mosaic jewelry used tiny pieces of hard stone or glass cemented together to create an artistic picture just as hundreds of pieces of a mosaic or jigsaw puzzle when put together create a scene. (These are sometimes referred to as Micro Mosaic.)

The type I collect are the Florentine variety, which used glass and had floral designs. Some people have told me they look like my PAINTINGS.

I especially like the black background glass, because it makes the colors really “Pop!”

These more modern versions, use larger stones depicting floral motifs and are set in gold tone metals, brass or silver.
