Weenie Sunday!

Happy Halloween everybody!!

(((updated)))

So parties? anyone doing that stuff tonight? Or are you gonna stay home like us and turn out the porch light, pull the drapes, keep the TV on at a really low volume and watch the 1959 B-Budget classic The Tingler with Vincent Price? No??

I'm kidding about the turning the porch lights out thing! I bought candy! yes! one whole bag lol!! You hear that neighbor kidlets? PLEASE knock on my door because I can't eat this stuff!! (well, not all tonight anyway) I bought mini Butterfingers! So comON to my house. We usually get a whoppin' 4 kids if we are lucky...:(

Even though I bought a pumpkin...I prolly won't carve it up (well I might if I get a wild hair---OH! speaking of wild hairs, I put some henna in mine yesterday and look Gawd! now I'm a pumpkin!) Well...thats just in the sun...here's how it looks inside :) see better?

k...back to my Jack-o-Lantern story. I use this cool ceramic one I bought years ago at an antique shop. It's painted red inside so it really glows purty! Since taking this picture, it's been broken (garden hose wraped around it one day) and it toppled over and the whole top cone shaped tip broke off. Luckily it was a clean break so I glued it back on...((he's all all better now)))

I made a big dish of my world famous :) Sour Cream Pork Enchiladas last night---then Kip decides he's not hungry (grrrrrrrr) So I will be forcing him to eat them tonight :P anyone else want some? Maybe I'll wrap up little foil ghost shaped packets of it and hand THAT out for Halloween?!

Oh one more thing...I wanna say a special WELCOME HOME to Erikie!! Glad you got home safe and sound from visiting your 95 year old Grammie in the Philippines. I can't wait to hear all about it. Pictures?

AND

A special Hello to (Greeting Card artist extraordinare) Curlin Reed Sullivan! Hello Curlin whats cookin?! and YES please add me to your Link of Faves! Thanks for asking :) Go see her cute cards made out of flowers, leaves, twigs etc. sounds odd? Well you'll just have to see them...because they are all "figurative" so cool. here....and read her blog here (She's also in my Blog friends list over there.) I first saw her art showcased in the magazine "Home Companion." I wish I could remember the issue for you all...Hello? Curlin? You there? Which month was it?

Ok, Bye all!

Thanks for the smelly foot Jelene!

Naughty Girl Progress

Hi Everyone Happy Friday!!!
I am just taking a little break in between painting and doing laundry. I know, such an exciting Friday night huh? Well, I wanna do the laundry tonight because I really have a ton of housework to do this weekend...so I thought I'd get a jump on it. And---- I know this will sound goofy, but when the dryer is on...the sound relaxes me. (unless there's a metal buckle or something, slapping against the wall of the dryer)

So here's a sneak preview (below) of my Naughty Girlie Girl...(Still lots of things being added) if you can believe that? Ok, think about that last post I made about Alfredo Arreguins work? Please check out this link...it shows another closeup of one of the panels of a painting called "Eve Before Adam" owned by The Smithsonian. The entire painting is 72" X 144" and is an oil. (granted the jpg image is hard to see...but if you click on it you'll see a little larger version.)

GAWD!!! I love all that detail and pattern!!! I know...thats a personal thing and some people don't like that....but I just melt over this type of stuff!! AHHHHHHHHHHH

So anyway....I'm goin' max this little girl out in the same way. (hopefully) So you'll see it later with a lot more details...thank you Alfredo!!!

Oh!
I got to see the progress on my new office digs today! Yep...soon I will be moved from my spacious 14' x 14' office I've inhabited for 11 years over to a 9' 6" x 7' 10" space :( WAHHHHHHH ----Well, I hope I will make it just a comfy :) Pictures to follow. I will be moving in about a month.

So today one of my coworkers had a retirement party. She has worked there for 36 years! 50+ people attended and brought food to share during lunchtime. She was given a $800.00 gift cert!!! (Accumulated from employees) That's pretty darn great I thought! geez...

Anyway, I brought a pasta salad which I thought was pretty tasty, but I was a little late in taking it to the "buffet line" (by about 30 mins...) so no one (well, barely anyone) tried mine since they already filled their plate with the crappy store bought stuff. Wahh!---it wasn't wasted though... I gave a ton of it to my a friend to take home to her teenage kids and brought the rest home to Kip. He said, I can eat thisnow? I said YES! PLEASE EAT IT ALL! ---so he proceeded to eat three bowlfuls as his dinner! Gawd---honey! :) lol!!!

OK gang...back to the massive piles of laundry. Have a great evening! Talk with you all tomorrow.

Alfredo Arreguin Art

Heureux de vous voir mes amis ! I got my new chair last night and Kip put it all together for me even before I got home from work (Yes! without me even having to coax him with a brew) and guess what? I'm not sure I like it anymore! Well???!! It felt SO much more comfortable in the store :(---but I think I just need to do a bunch of adjusting on it (so yes) I'll give it another day. Kinda disapointing though.

It's a yukie grey cold-ish day out today. Last night I just painted on my Naughty Girl (boy that sounds weird) I haven't decided whether or not to show progress shots of it in here for you guys to see....yep, kinda shy (not really!)

So yesterday... while at the Art store buying some black paper to finish framing up Joe's painting (BTW: I shipped it today Joe) I was looking through some of their boxes of artsy stationary & gift cards and saw this artist work that I just fell in love with. I've seen his work before many years ago, but these paintings were new to me. The gal at the art store said...ya...that artist has WAAAY to much time on his hands. (You'll understand what she meant when you see his work below)

I just love all the color and & patterns. His name is Alfredo Arreguin. (Speaking of Alfredo...I have a great pasta recipe to share with you all later-- ha ha :)

So here's a little bit about Mr. Alfredo...

“A cofounder of the Pattern and Decoration Movement, Seattle resident Alfredo Arreguin (b. Mexico 1935) creates giant, intense oil paintings that suggest engravings, etched glass, and tapestries. Visions of the natural world and its inhabitants flicker, flash, dissolve into abstract patterns; skies and surfaces are composites of cryptic Mayanesque glyphs, Central American weavings, and gemstones."

Here's one of his large oil paintings...you’ll see why I'm in love with it :)

and here's a close up of one of his triptychs...(just to top third of this painting titled: "Shileshole")

So, I wonder if I could see one of his original somewhere in Seattle when I’m visiting in Nov? That would be so cool!---

K, Gotta go lunch is over,
J'espère que vous avez un beau jour !

Monday Monkey Light

Well Good Evening everyone :)
This past weekend was pretty nice. Friday we went out to dinner at a cool place with another couple--to celebrate a birthday. The bar area was all red (I love red walls) and they had this neat Monkey Light sitting behind the bar....kinda cool egh?

Anyway, all the food was excellent. Should I give the restaurant a plug? Ok...I will, it was Celestins Caribbean Restaurant, on K Street in Sacramento, CA. :)

My girlfriend gave me this very cool book on 1950's fabrics (belated birthday gift) ---But guess what? I already have it!! wah! Thank you anyway Valerie!!!

and her daughter Little Miss M made me this card! :) lol!!

Then you guys knew Kip and I celebrated our 21st Wedding Anniversary on Saturday night. Yes...we did! Remember a year ago we were in Bodega Bay for our 20th? Wow, time sure flies by. Anyway, we had a nice quiet evening. I made that Chicken Cordon Blu recipe, and we popped in a DVD (Jeremiah Johnson with Robert Redford--that is Kip's favorite. I like it too for all the beautiful snow scenery of Utah) then we had a fire in the fireplace and a bottle of champagne :)

Sunday I did something I shouldn't have :(I bought myself a new chair!!! It's something I really needed...(Thanking Ray for bidding on my two Bird Watercolors) but really can't afford right now ---anyway--- I've had this same cheapie chair that has absolutely no back support, and the cat has shredded for 7 years...and it's just killing my back so I splurged and got a nice one on Sunday. It'll be delivered tomorrow. I hope I can put it all together myself....but if I can't, I will try and coax Kip into helping with a Newcastle Brown Ale :)

After I got my chair, I popped over to Borders Books and picked up the lastest Sacramento magazine and a cookbook on Pasta. It was the "BEST OF" issue. and I didn't know until I got home, but my Dad's band was listed in it as the Best Big Band! Yeah DAD!

Speaking of my Dad... it's his 78th birthday today! HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD! I Love You Bunches!

K,
Well, thats it for my rip roarin' exciting Monday night blog entry. Tomorrow it's suppose to pour rain...thunder and lightning and all that scary good stuff...so it sounds like soup weather to me.

Take care all,
Miss You Edee and Erikie!!

Art Listed & Food Made

Happy Sunday :)
I was up early today (4:30am) I know I'm insane! well, I couldn't sleep anymore. I usually just lay in bed and just think about stuff, work, bills, etc... but this time, I decided to actually get up and do something. So I stumble down the hallway, quietly made a cup of espresso and entered my studio.

My eyes wouldn't focus yet so I sat in my drafting chair and just sipped my nice hot coffee relaxing a little. Then all of the sudden Nutty (that's her down there) jumps up on my lap and my coffee spills in my lap (ouch and wah!) cuz' it spills on my new light pink robe-- NUTTY! Anyway, now I'm awake. :(

I decide to get a little painting done (patting myself on back) and I also listed a few more watercolors (old ones, I did in '86) on ebay! HERE'S THE AUCTION LINK.

Here's the first one...

and here's the other one...

------------------------------------------------
So last night for our Anniversary I made "Chicken Cordon Blu" (I have the whole recipe that I posted in here last Feb.) This time I served it over mashed potatoes which is my favorite food in the whole world.

OK...So what'd you guys do last night?

More later...

Retire/Anniver

Happy Friday!

They had a big sale at the local art store yesterday. I bought a few pads of tracing paper, some small plastic bottles, erasers...and a couple greeting cards, nothing super exciting...

I thought I had scored on finding these nice artsy greeting cards... I was looking for one to give to Kip for our anniversary on Saturday. So anyway, I found some Cezanne ones, kinda cool of an artist painting a gal in the back of a boat....and they were only 75 cents from $2.50!

When I got back to my office, and opened one up to write stuff in it -- it said "Hope you have a Happy Retirement" AUGH!! Retirement!? I thought it was blank inside! No wonder it wasn't a fast mover...Geez, now I have three retirement cards and no anniversary card :P

I guess I'll just give Kip one of my art cards...ya that'll thrill him or I was also thinking of printing out one of his pieces of art and mounting it on a card and giving it to him ---Surprise!? Does this look familiar?

I don't know.
k, thats my exciting blog entry for today. What's up with you guys?

Sea Dreamer Girl is Listed

Here's the Ebay Listing of my "SEA DREAMER" watercolor (finally!) Thank you Ray for that title.

There were a bunch of great suggestions for titles---thanks everyone! I picked Rays title because I liked it, but also it took up the least amount of character spaces for the title listing :) (yes, that's important)

So, tonight you're all invited to:
Come have some Tator Tot Casserole at my house, while watching Survivor...and then draw a little as you cheer on your favorite mosquito bitten sunburned island contestant. Sounds like a rip roarin' evening to me.

Remember I said if you started seeing my innocent little Girlie Girl watercolors start to get a little naughty, not to be too shocked? K...just warning you again. :)

Have a great Thursday!

SuzySea Gal & A Recipe Whine

Here she is all done. Boy! What a problem child she's been. I've been trying to scan her tonight and my scanner lost all its settings and is driving me absoultely bonkers. Obviously, I'm still trying to come up with that "perfect killer" title for her.

So tonight...I decided to try out that Perkins Potato Pancake recipe (like I said I was gonna do today) and it was good...but it wasn't something that went well with the grilled scallops and salmon fish I made tonight.

It's definately only a breakfast type food. I should have realized that when I read it called for 4 tablespoons of sugar? It would be perfect with some breakfast sausages though---hear that Joe?

Anyway, ya... it's kinda sweet and not as potato-ee as I thought :( I just wanted it to be like the hashbrown potatoes that they make at my work---or like at Denny's GAWD! They are soooo perfect there!

So what's the secret with making hashbrowns!? (someone please tell me!) I try and make them but they never get crispy and brown on the outside. Is it the temperature? the grill? should I use a teflon pan? or is it the butter? should I use oil? is it the potatoes? Should grate my own or use frozen? Wah!!!! I wanna know! (((sigh))) Mine just turn out like mushy shredded mooshie crap!

Anyway, I'm kinda frustrated over making them (can you tell?) I want to "master them" I want to be known as the hashbrown princess. Then I'll paint a "Girlie Girl Hash Brown Princess" watercolor :P

Ok...I'll be thinking about this all night now.

Rainy Windy Tuesday

Isn't that door mat funny? Well...I thought it was when I saw it in a store a couple weekends ago.

It's really windy and rainy here today. Our power has already gone out once here at work. So while I'm taking my morning break, I thought I'd better pop in quick to say hi.

I found this website last night that shows copycat recipes of some popular restaurants.

I found the Cantonese Stri Fry recipe that Kip got when we ate at P.F. Changs a couple weekends ago. They also have a copy-cat of that Panda Express Orange Chicken. See the list of the others. I think I'm going ton try the Perkins Potato Pancakes tonight...because I have some hashbrowns in the freezer already---but I think I'll be leaving the pat of butter off them at the end :)---Oh! Question? Where are Perkin Restaurants located? The Midwest? I've never heard if them.

(FYI: Michele, I finally got to the Post Office yesterday and mailed "Beachie Girl" to you. Sorry it took me so long!)

Oops! breaks over! Bye all-

She is Almost Soup!

Just a little bit more work on my newest watercolor...then "Oceanie Gal with Cat and Parrot" will be done...and will be listed on Ebay.

Oh! and I guess you can tell I need a MUCH better title for her! Any suggestions? So how has your Sunday been? I was out at my parents getting caught up with their lives. My Mom gave me some pointers on grammer for my blog :P I know I need MAJOR help. She told me about a book called Eats Shoots and Leaves...which I do think I will be buying soon...or will be borrowing her copy. (aren't you all overjoyed?) I know my girlfriend Diane will be :) Hi Di!!

I was also out with the masses today at the local Mall, taking back a pair of tan jeans that had a slight wardrobe malfunction (the zipper wouldn't zip.) Ya, that's a slight problem... Then I returned some short leather boots that I thought were so nice on Thursday when I bought them...but by Saturday, they were mini torture devices.

I got a much more comfy pair...and believe it or not they are still stylish! (Well I think so...and they also make me 5' 7" tall! gotta love that!!!) Hey look out LilJif I'm catching up to you! lol!

Ok, gang...I wanna finish up my painting above.

Ryden/GG Progress/Grilled Chicken Sands

There's going to be a Mark Ryden Art Show at Frye Museum when we are visiting Seattle in November! Thank you for telling me that Leigh!

"A retrospective exhibition of the art of Mark Ryden featuring more than thirty artworks on display. The exhibition will be traveling throughout 2004 and 2005 to the museums listed below. "

HERE

Also thank everyone for all for your Seattle tips...of places to go and things to do. I'm getting really jazzed about going and as few of you might know, I'm not a big traveler :( (so that's a good thing!)

I made these Grilled Chicken sandwiches last night. I was trying to copy the Panini Sandwiches at one of my favorite restarants. I couldn't find any smoked mozz. cheese though, and I didn't use herb focaccia....but it looked like it would taste good. I was busy watching Survivor on TV so I didn't make one for myself. But tonight I hope to try one out?

Kip said they were delish...Gah! I just hope there's some chicken left when I get home from work :( (K note to self: Call the K Man and tell him hands off my chicken lol!)

K, here's another progress picture of my latest watercolor. So should I add a tatoo to her?---you know to make her a little edgy? (BTW: Thank you KQ---for that sugesstion :)

Oops my work break is over...More later gang...Bye!

Tickle Tickle

Hi Everyone! Well, here's another "Girlie Girl" watercolor painting that I started last night. I'm happy with her so far. But you know? My plan was to draw out kind of a more "edgy girlie girl" kinda a more "risque" one. But alas...cute-sie won out again.

BUT! if you do start seeing my sweet little girls turning slightly naughty, well just consider yourself warned?

So what else am I doing? Well, I have a 7lb. chicken roasting in the oven right now (I was going to crock pot it, but I decided just to cook it up tonight instead) It kinda smells like Thanksgiving in our house now.

Hey speaking of Thanksgiving... I am still thinking up things to do while in Seattle during Thanksgiving. Any more suggestions? day trips, restaurants? places to shop? galleries you can recommend etc?

Kathe told me about a small intimate restaurant (only 5 tables!) called Matt's on the Market" located across from Pikes Place Market. Then Joe mentioned a very cool Gallery called "Roq La Rue." I hope I can check out both! and Joe since you live close by, I hope we can hook up on one of the days I'm there? I know it might be hard with family stuff going on though...

My plan is have my laptop handy (I hope my Brother-In-Law has an extra phone line?) cuz I want to keep a little photo blog journal for you all on what I end up doing for my Thanksgiving week in Seattle.

So aren't you excited to see that!!? I mean just think, you will actually see pictures of me driving our rental car to the local mini-mart for a cube of butter and a box of Triskets? How could you not be riveted to come back daily for that kind of stuff!

Ok...I'm off to transfer more files from this monster computer of mine on to CD's so I can load them up on my laptop....as well as paint a little more on my watercolor.

Have a nice Wednesday evening. Oh and don't forget Survivor is on tomorrow! Common you men pick it up!---don't let the women stomp all over you :)

Nite,

Changs Hugie House of Hot Stuff

What a pleasant weekend! Thank you all for you BD wishes...and again, Jenn was great meeting you and your friends at the Art Walk on Saturday night, I’m glad you sold a lot of art! :)

After cruising around to a few of the galleries Sat. night Kip and I went out to dinner to a place we hadn't been to before called P.F. Changs. It's fairly new, open less than a year and is located in the heart of downtown Sac.

So anyway...this P.F.C place is known as a China Bistro. Wha? According to the dictionary, Bistro means: a small informal restaurant that serves wine. Well this place was HUGIE!! I’m thinkin’ it must just be the “trendy” thing to call a restaurant these days?

So here we are waiting for our table (1-1/2 hour wait) ya, that's a long time, but I knew every place downtown at 7:30pm on a Sat. night would be the same. So we camped out standing at the bar, talking about the past week, enjoying a nice glass of vino and watched everyone eat :) I noticed it was a great place for large groups and families...and now that I think about it, we probably had to wait a little longer because there was just the two of us. :(

I loved the arched mirror and these really big lantern lamps were so cool. My pics aren’t the best, because I wasn’t using the flash...(yes, being polite and incognito as well) But you can see it’s a big place inside, and even has a large central staircase that leads up to more dinner seating.

They gave us this cool thing ---red lights flash when your table is available instead of hearing them scream your name over an intercom.

What’d we eat? Thank you for asking...Let’s see, I ordered the Mongolian Beef (quickly cooked steak with scallions and garlic) and Kip ordered Cantonese Scallops (Stir-fried with garlic, yellow chives and snow peas)...both were **yummie** The waiter makes a sauce at the table for you. It was: Chili paste, super hot chinese mustard, soy sauce and hot peanut chili oil. WhooWee!

Oh and the best part was the bathrooms! (and guess who forgot the camera back at the table? :(---Darn it all!

Anyway, the sink in the bathroom was this big slanted piece of slate stone (not a counter and not an actual sink. It had no faucets (just that hand motion sensor thing) that kinda worked as you held your hands under the mirror. The mirror only went so far down into the slanted sink trench (sorry I don't explain things well do I?) K...trying...

But what was cool about it was that you could see the water and sometimes fingers of the guys washing their hands too!-yep, just on the other side of the mirror was the guys bathroom, so you shared the sink. You know? I was thinking though...I wonder if you can hear each other talking? and I wonder if anyone ever reaches under the miror quick to grab someones fingers? Gawd, what shock that would be!

While I was doing a search for the restaurant, I saw that they are opening up a P.F.C. in Lynnwood, WA! That’s where we will be for Thanksgiving!! Maybe instead of smoking a turkey for Thanksgiving, we can have strir fried something or other at the local P.F. Chang Hugie House? lol!

Well, all this food talk has made me hungry for lunch. So Bye 4Now all,

Mini Van Go-Jennifers Art

Hey! Look at us--Mutt and Jif!

Ok...Jennifer is tall, but not THAT tall---I took my shoes off to make the picture a little bit more shocking. Did it work? Yes? Oh good! :P

So, Jennifer and I met last night at the Second Saturday Art walk here in Sacramento. She had her art displayed in the Izzy Mini Van-Go Gallery!

When I first drove up, I spotted her getting in her car to go park someplace so I wave at her...she waves back, but I could tell she had no clue who I was. So, I decided to stock her a little before introducing myself... I'm so bad.

Here's me approaching from down the street...::::snap!::: Then here's an incognito shot I took while inside a clothes shop shooting through the window. :::::snap!::::: I finally introduced myself...we chit chat, but she knew alot about me already (from my blog) ---I forget about that sometimes.

She introduced me to her friends, and then I proceeded to snap more pictures. This time of Jenn standing next to the van with her artwork displayed inside I bought this one and this box of "Day of the Dead" wooden matches Here's the other side.

Then she made these cool sugar skulls and gingerbread cookies too.

Oh! and one last thing...
She remebered to bring the Peter Max puzzle that she found at a Thrift store for me. Thank You Jennifer!

It was great meeting you. I hope you sold a ton last night...and look your piece is already hanging on my wall! right next to Joe, Cathy and Debra's art :)

Happy Sunday all!

Post BD- Pre ArtWalk

GOOD MORNING!! It actually rained a little last night---I love it! and it's still kinda cloudy and breezy out but it should be ok for tonight (no rain) for the Second Saturday Art Walk.

I will be doing a little painting myself today :)---it's perfect weather just to stay inside with a cup of coffee and fiddle fart around in my studio. I'll prolly be burning some CD's of music today and more of my art files so I can load them onto the TheHepCatLoLap :)

I had a very nice (quiet) birthday yesterday. Thank you all (Especially Barbara, Erikie and Joe) for your birthday wishes--I really appreciated them!
Tonight we will be doing more of the "party-ing" I got some beautiful flowers! See? A big bunch of red roses from Kip, and a mystery bouquet? (Not really, I think I know who they are from...but the card was blank-Whoops?) Di was that from you guys? Thank you if it was ;)

Also a huge bag of salt water taffy from my sister, a bunch of cool cards and some nice phone calls :)

Oh! and guess what showed up in the mail from Joe? My "French Hats for Pickleman art piece" from the EBSQ ripped off show---yep! Thank you I've already hung it on my wall in my studio, by your other piece see?

and Joe...(hanging head) I still have to mail your painting to you :( I will!!

---Also this morning while I was typing away on the computer I see a strange guy walk by my studio window and then our doorbell rang. I made Kip get the door cuz I was still in my robe :( and there was a teanie little present sitting on the front doormat? Another mystery? Hummm...anyway, it was from my friend Anne. She (I think?) made me this very beautiful aqua blue necklace and hand drew out this neat card :) See? Thank you sweetheart! I love it :)

Well, Thats it for today---I'll try and take pics tonight at the art walk.
Have a nice Saturday everyone and I will see you tonight LilJiff!

Halloween Costume?

So here's the top to my belly dancer outfit I'm wearing at Halloween... (jk)

So who's getting dressed up? Any of you planning on going to a halloween party? I was trying to remember what my favorite halloween costume was when I was a little kid....and I really can't say I remember being very creative in that department. It was more like, wahhhh!! Mom! what am I gonna be? (and that was the evening of Halloween) So then Mom & I would rush around the house pulling out wild colorful scarves, jewelry and she'd put blue eyeshadow on me, bright red lipstick and say- Tada! You're a gypsy!!--knock em' dead sweetie! (well, she didn't say that last part.)

I think I was a gypsy maybe once and you know? now that I think about it...I was never a princess or anything pink and girlie like that. :( My sister was always a witch. ;) she was a good one too! ( I mean that in a nice way of course)

One year I dressed in a green leotard, wore a white furry hat and Mom painted my face "somewhat green" and I went as a worm...geez, how bad is that? lol!! I remember having to tell everyone at each house we went to what I was. Wah! I hated that costume. (sorry Mom)

I think I was a boring hobo most years :( Ya...charcoal bricket residue all over my face...a tattered plaid shirt, worn out jeans...and that bandana scarf filled with who knows what dangling off the end of a stick which I'd fling over my shoulder and poke the neighbor kids in the head (yes by accident!!)

Of course "back then" we used pillowcases, not those little plastic pumpkin heads to collect our candy. A favorite candy of mine were those giant jaw breakers (loved em!) and of course we never had to check through it to make sure it wasn't laced with bad stuff. But, my Mom did always make us throw away the candy that had kinda come undone in the wrapper? ---because she thought it might had gotten kinda dirty. :P~ geez.

So any fun stories about costumes you wore (or your kids wore) that you wanna share with the world like I just did? K Spill!!

P.S. I put THIS on my new laptop. Now Kip says it's been Chick-a-fied and won't come near it-----ahhh that's a darn shame :P

P.S.S. Look at this neat old Lo-Lo Poster Joe found on the internet for me? Cool egh? TYJ!

Art Festival 04

It was a beautiful weekend here in Sacramento. V and I went to the Convention Center to see the Art Festival. Each artist space was set up very creatively. One gal that sold earrings had them displayed on standing wood shutters. Another guy that sold beautiful copper and brass doorknobs, doorbell ringers, and wall switch plates set up a garden umbrella and his whole space kinda had the "Arts and Crafts Mission style outdoor garden feel." (lol!)

Its really a big deal...I mean how your booth is set up. I couldn't take closeup pictures of the art...(except I kinda did with this guys glass work) but I took a few general crowd shots and misc. shots.

One of my favorite artists was this gal Barbara Sebastian. Her booth was simple clean and white and her display of these cool little porcelain fetish jars was really nice!

Here's a cool old painters box....I loved the duck tape on the leg of the stool it was plopped on, and the little handmade brush holder.

I bought this purse that has vintage barkcloth fabric on one side and velvet on the other (yep it's reversable...and washable too :)

If your interested...I listed another watercolor on ebay HERE.

This weekend is the second Saturday Art walk...I'm going to meet LilJif! and see her art in the "Mini Van Go" Right Jenn? I hope to anyway :)

More later...

Beachie Girl 2List

K...here's the watercolor I will be listing tonight on Ebay :). It's the one I did while on vacation at the coast this past April. (note the Beachie theme) I scanned this picture with my new scanner...and boy! you can really see the texture of the watercolor paper can't you?

Gawd, I'm hungry. I didn't eat dinner last night. Well, I did kinda, I nibbled on some chicken I had cooked in Mrs. Spanky Crockpot. I was watching a little of the debates and pacing the floor worried that Survivor might be bumped :(---but it wasn't!

So anyway, I think I'm gonna get a breakfast burrito. at the cafeteria in a minute. Sound good to you guys? lol :)

Close up here. Not of a breakfast burrito...of my watercolor :)

May I recommend to you gals: Coconut Body Butter :) try it it's great...I bought some at The Body Shop. I bought the larger size and divided up into three little plastic containers, one for work, one for home and one for my car :) It's very rich and silky. Geez, I'm a getting to be a lotion and cream snob.

Oh Well--Have a great Friday all!
