These glasses are so great---they prolly matched her refrigerator and stove as well. :) This pic is from one of my old 1950's magazines---this one in particular has a bunch of great color ad's in it and girls in swimsuits....so I'll have to share more with you.
Ok how ugly a hugie are these!!!---I'm so wanting those bangs... :) Just kidding!---Have a great Tuesday everyone. Lo**

See update at the bottom of this post **
A Good Sunday evening to all of you :)
Well gang, this is pretty much all I bought today at the Antique paper show. I did buy a few other things...but I can't really post them or don't want to because they are kinda gifts for people that I know (that might or might not read this oh so riveting blog of mine) ya right....

So anyway, I paid $20.00 for this nice old 11' x 14" print by Arthur Paine Garratt. (Hey Jenny...it was Printed in Canada!) I just loved the colors, her cloisonne beads, her shawl, her rosy cheeks, her reddish hair and her calm eyes...(yep all of it!) My Gram had one kinda like this in her house, so maybe that's what drew me to it?
Gawd, I felt like a cheapola today. I mean I get in a mood where $3.00 is "whooooaa are you kidding me? thats waaaay too much for that!!!" Anyway, today was kinda one of those days. :( But I wanted to buy just ONE thing and this print was it.
But in reality--here's what I've been doing lately. To curb myself from buying stuff I ask myself if I was given 10 minutes to grab anything I wanted in my house (emergency mode) would I take that? and if the answer is heck no...then I think twice about buying it...or keeping it for that matter, if I'm trying to weed out stuff from my house. That's good huh? Say yes... :)
So anyway, that brings up kinda an interesting question. Let's say the news came on with one of those "SPECIAL REPORTS" of something that is happening in your town or area or whatever, and they say you have 10 minutes to evacuate your house. What would YOU take?
I've thought about this a few times and thought the typical stuff...my animals (since i have no kidlets) ...photos...that good bottle of champagne in back of the frig. (just kidding) my fave pillow (not kidding) and maybe a few sentimental nicknacks? So spill!!! What would YOU guys take? Have you ever had to do that? I mean during an emergency?
You know what I thought of one night when I was laying in bed wondering if the levy was going to break and flood us from all the rain we were having? I thought... would if I owned a owned horse or some large animal I couldn't take? :( I mean I panic about trying to pack my two bird cages and two cats up in our car!!! ----you can't just pack a horse up in your Honda!
Well, anyway...kinda got off on a tangent there. sorry :)
Hows that Sunday going for ya?
Lo**
UPDATE!!
Look at what Erikie did to the print I bought :) she thought she'd be a wisenheimer (however you spell it) and do a little photoshop magic with my face...pretty good job there E!! I finally have creamy skin with no freckles! HERE LOL!!! Erikie you should be painting young lady!
Oh! and I just got your phone message...my website is ok :) just must have been a temporary thing with my provider. TY for calling. I wished I would have picked up!!!
Pictures from the place I wasn't suppose to take pictures...:)

and some red ones...

Look what Erika sent me! A t-shirt she thought I would actually fit in!! (that would fit a twelve year old maybe) lol...and a lil' monkey. Thank you Erikie!!!
I'm gonna let my manikan gal wear your tshirt...because I've been meaning to cover up her ta ta's I'm quiet jealous of them frankly... I love that it says girlie girl on it! TY again.

I stopped by the East West Bookstore yesterday and took this picture of the statue in their front display window. I thought it was cool.

ok! I'm off to the antique paper and postcard show :) as well as fart around in Kips little convertable zip zip car today...so who knows where I'll end up. Maybe in France...Edee you hear that? Get the brie cheese out and pour me a glass :)
Have a good day all

Guess what? I didn't miss the Antique Paper Show after all!!! It was today and tomorrow so I am definately going tomorrow. The postcard I had was wrong---So yippie for typos!
Anyway, today I had to run over to the Gallery and pick up the second piece I entered the W.A.S.H. show that didn't get accepted :( but on my way there I pass this very cool Natural Food store, so I decided to stop in to pick up a salad since K was going to be working late and this would be my dinner.
Just to tell you first off...I hope you enjoy these pics because I got busted taking them. I can't tell you the name of the store ....and Val, don't say anything...because I know you know this place. :P
Anyway. The gal that told me to cease-and-desist was actually very nice. I told her I was an artist...(truth) taking pics for watercolors I wanted to paint (truth...well kinda) I wasn't a grocery store spy...I just went gah gah over how they stacked up all their vegies look!!!
Here's the front display of tomatoes---aren't they great? Look at all those colors and shapes. :)

So here's one more picture I took before I ran away from the mean lady. (jk!!)
I do have more...but I think I'll tease you until tomorrow...Yes I'm hooking you hopefully to visit my blog again tomorrow to see a few more pictures of some sexy stacked vegetables! lol :)
Have a great Sat. Night all! I've off to catch up reading blogs, and enjoy my salad.
Lo**
This is Peanut. You've all seen me post pics of her before. (refer to Monday) The other night...

she brought me a sock.
She used to do this alot...but I think it had been at least 3 months since she did it last. I guess she just wants attention? Is that it? Is she showing me her kill?
This last sock...that big grey pair, she actually had to get off our bed way back at the other end of the house and even push open my studio door open to bring it to me. Gawd...I sound like such a proud parent huh? Maybe I should print up a Bumper Sticker that says "Does Your Cat Bring You a Sock? Mine Does." :)

I am finally getting caught up with projects at home AND at work which is such a great feeling especially because it's FRIDAY!!!
I missed the antique paper show last Sat. and Sunday! I am so mad. I just found the postcard for it on my bulletin board last night...the next one isn't until January! :(
Oh here a pic of my new fish Bernard. Nice red huh?

He sits right here on my desk at work.
I'm craving clam chowder...with a big hunk of soft chewy sourdough bread...anyone have some I could eat? I would make some tonight, but it's suppose to be 100 degrees out today, so not actually soup weather yet. I want the fall to come NOW! (sorry)
The State Fair Started a few days ago. K and I didn't enter any art this time :( I would like to go by and see the art show but K doesn't. (not sure why) So I might have to trek out there one evening before it closes to check it out. Plus I have to buy something to eat on a stick. :) Geez look at THIS!!!
P.S. Caren, I'm mailing your painting today :)
Ok Everyone Have a wonderful Friday!!!

I took this blurry picture on last Saturday when I was waiting in the parking lot for Kip at the video store. I liked those rings in the top left corner. What's that called? I know it has some kind scientific spacy name :( But heck if I know what it is. Oh wait...maybe itis just a lens flare? Duh...

Speaking of neat sky pictures....Do you guys ever look at the Astronomy Picture of the Day site? I do...everyday (well almost) This one was pretty cool....it's of the "Blue Moon" we had on July31st. ...and Northern Lights are amazing.
well, let me see what been happening with me....
Well, I'm still working on a very long list of jobs at work as well as at home. ((yawn)) My parents just celebrated there 53 wedding anniversary, my sisters birthday is next week, I finally had to order vacuume cleaner bags online because I couldn't find them anywhere in town, I trimmed my hair, painted my toes, cut Caren's mat for her painting, saw Jasmine Becket-Griffith had an ad in the newest Juxapoz magazine, had a nighmare last night that I was being held hostage but I escaped out the bathroom window--Paris Hiltons dog showed the way out :P --- I was mad because I tore my nightgown and my legs got all scratched up :( lol! I guess I should be happy I'm alive! I know I know...
See, kinda a typical Thursday...not super exciting.
Alright everyone I'll leave you with this picture of the window (kinda) next to my office. I took it this past spring. I felt like I was about a foot tall looking up at this window. I know I'm a shrimp, but this really made me feel short. ;)

Bye!
Lo**
I think I've posted this coast picture I took last April in here before...but who cares...look at it again! (lol!) It's breathtaking egh?

Well guess What? Kip and I both got paintings in the W.A.S.H. Show! Yep! They picked my Daliah one and rejected the two girls. The reception for the show is Sept 11th. We will go, so I'll take pictures then to show you all.
Does anyone know anything about Numerology? I don't...so I went here...to try and figure out what my Life Path Number was...still figuring it out. Thought you might want to know yours?
Have a great Wed!

We made it through Monday gang ---cuz guess what? It's Tuesday! :)

Boy she looks mad huh? Well the weekend is over, so maybe thats why?
For the past few weeks her hangout has been at our fence. There are two fences kinda sandwiched together (ours and our neighbors) So little mice and lizards and critters like that live between them. It drives Nut crazy because she hears them scurring around but can't get em. Ah ha! Thats why she looks pissed in this picture!
This past weekend I was so wild with framing for that art show that I never did make it out to the Bead show which I wanted to do. (Sorry for never calling you back Valerie) I guess I didn't need anymore beads. :(
The weather being cool yesterday up til the afternoon, was such a nice change. Made me think about having a fire in the fireplace again :) (Got wood?) I know that prolly sounds silly since it is still August....but anytime the weather turns cool (in Calif.) I think soup, fire in the fireplace, B budget horror film on TV and comfy jammies!!! lol! ;)
Other stuff:
My Dad found this old woodblock I carved in 1971. I know! it's almost an antique! lol! You can see that my style hasn't changed much....in loving patterns and designs and such. :)

After I do Rays commission I'm not going to accept anymore C's. I have some ideas for new paintings and I want to promote myself a little more, redo parts of my website and follow up on some of the people interested in my art cards etc. With commissions (as some of you artists out there know) can pile up on you and stress you out ...making the artwork look forced. I hate that feeling, and it's not fair to the client. Don't get me wrong...I love that people like my art enough to want me to paint something for them, and who knows maybe this will bite me in the butt later, but right now I think I will graciously decline them :/
Ok, I must MARCH! and get ready for work. Have a great Monday! and remember... Smile alot, eat something green and don't trip. (That's my motto anyway)

K and I went to the ToyRoom Gallery Art Show last night. It's only open three days during each month. (the third weekend) It was our first time there...and I really was impressed with it. It's small, but they pack alot of great artwork in the upstairs gallery.
This show was called "The 595 Show" It had artwork from 10 different artists.
Downstairs (actually the front where you enter) they had a bunch of merchandise, like posters, art books, a t-shirts (for the show) etc.

Here are a few views upstairs. The gallery guys were very nice to let me take pics (yes, I asked permission first) Thank you John and...(oops forgot your name :( ...English accent guy)

Here's the two posters we bought. One is the actual show poster...the other is a poster of a show in SF they had (a Tribute) to Rick Griffins artwork. It's metallic gold and black. Very nice. Here's more of his work....and a closeup of the gold one.

Well, yesterday Kip and I entered a few pieces of art into the Watercolor (W.A.S.H.) Show. I put in 2 pieces K, one. We will find out on Tues. if they are accepted. Tracy did you enter? I hope not (jk!!!)
Here are the two I entered.

and here's Kip's...

Well today is a relaxing day for me...it's cloudly a windy out today, I like the change. Hope you all have a nice Sunday.

Here's Caren's bunny I did for the EBSQ Pet Portrait Swap. He's tiny ony 5" x 7" but I think he came out pretty cute. It's in a little looser style than I normally do...and yes, it's watercolor. I emailed a picture to Caren to show her, but I haven't heard back from her yet. She painting one of Carrie bird (our parrot) I can't wait to see it!!!

Tonight I had to pack up a bunch of clothes from our closet. I kinda forgot that the donation truck was coming buy tomorrow. So anyway I got four HUGIE heftybags full of clothes for them. (mainly Kip's :)...He dumped them not me---all I can say if FINALLY! Geez it was like pulling teeth (as my Dad says) to get him to throw out anything! So I'm happy, because we actually have a closet again to hang clothes instead of having them in the bedroom... in piles and stacks that tip over when the cats make a bed on them.

I am so glad it's Friday tomorrow aren't you?
Have a nice night,
Lo**
Told you they had big tubs of iced beer at the Buddhist Church Bazaar!!
Actually they have two of these --and usually they are both filled to the top with beer and ice, but since we were there on Sunday evening vs. Sat. they were winding things down so the second bathtub was totally empty. You can see that they are recycle conscious here.

Here's what we ate for our dinner... Usually I get the teriyaki chicken but they ran out. We also love these teriyaki sandwiches...but they ran outta those too :(
They had even more BBQ's set up outside the church on the sidewalks.

They always have plenty of Tempura, but the line was very long. I was going to go back and get some cucumber salad, but I was stuffed!
Boy! Look at these stats I just found!!
More than 750 church members volunteer to bring this annual cultural event, which is in its 58th consecutive year, to the Sacramento community.
·Estimated attendance for the two-day event is 40,000 to 50,000 people.
·One and a half tons of rice cleaned cooked and consumed in traditional Japanese cuisine.
·10,000 + pounds of chicken seasoned and barbecued for chicken teriyaki.
·400 pounds of shrimp cleaned and cooked for tempura and sushi delicacies.
·1,500 pounds of beef prepared for teriyaki meat sticks and sandwiches.
·500 pounds of noodles prepared for hot and cold dishes.
·2,000 pounds of charcoal used to cook teriyaki chicken and teriyaki beef sticks.
·150 gallons of soy sauce used to create authentic marinades and other seasonings.
·500 pounds of sugar and 100 pounds of salt used in preparation of various seasonings.
·6 tons of ice used to cool drinks, keep fish sushi fresh and make refreshing snow cones.
Pretty impressive huh?
_____________________________________________________________
The tent is set up in the church parking lot. It's huge!

This year they had a live band which they've never done before. They were very good especially the guitar player, but Motown music at a Buddhist church just wasn't what I was expecting.
Wandering through the crowds...

At one part of the evening, I went inside the church and found this beautiful garden, with a bonsai display.

Well, gang that was our evening on Sunday. I have alot of pretty lantern pics for you Erkie!
Have a great Wed.

Have a nice Tuesday everyone....I'll pop in later.

OMG!!!
My poor Grandma...she had to endure us grand kids making things like this. What a trooper to actually display it proudly! lol!

I had borrowed an old scrapbook of pictures from my parents and found this picture. I laughed so hard...mainly because it was my cousins who made this lil' corncob scarecrow--NOT ME!!---- I must admit though, I also made something similar when I was visiting my Grandma and Grandpa one summer vacation.
Mine was a hard boiled egg penguin with black olive wings and a carrot sliver as a beak :) (((giggle)))) I remember it wouldn’t stand up on the plate, so I stuck a ton of toothpicks in it to prop it up ---then smooched some more black olives around the base (I remember thinking they would be my big black rocks :) I also remember pleading with my Grandfather to eat it!! I’m sure it had little grimy kid hands all over it ... Poor guy. I’m sure he made up something like...”Well, honey if I did that, who would watch over all these celery and carrot sticks?” lol!

And here’s another picture from the 60’s, of my Grandfather on his birthday. We were up at their house in Angles Camp that he was still building at the time (note the silvery wall insulation) I’m standing between him and my Gram...drooling over that homemade cake....making sure I don't miss out on the cake distribution. (typical) I love that my Gram and cousin are all puckered up--helping him blow out the candles.
Well, thats it on old pics for today!
I didn’t get a laptop yesterday after all. The sales guys were bugging me. (they were non-stop in my face, so I decided to revolt!) Well, actually Kip bought an kinda expensive digital camera...and asked me why I really needed a laptop. When I thought about it I felt kinda guilty, since i don't REALLY need it. Then I thought about all the art supplies I could buy with $1200.00 :) Now I feel like I have that much money to spend! spend! spend! Do you ever think that way? Oh common, yes you do :)
Tonight we will be off to the Buddhist Church Bazaar to have some yummie food...and do our traditional people watching. It’s kinda cloudy outside which is gonna be weird, since traditionally it’s about 100 degrees out when we go to this thing. I always want to jump in their big bathtub size vat of iced beers :)
Off to paint on “Traveler”...Caren’s Bunny for the pet portrait swap.
Later all!
Have a great Sunday.
Lo**

Going to go buy my laptop today, then go babysit the Clancy dog and paint on yet another commission while at my parents house tonight.
Good Luck tonight on your Art Show tonight Jennifer!
Have a great Saturday everyone.

Here are the two pieces that I bought at the "Adults with Disabilities Art Show" Aren't they nice and colorful? I love the big one...because of the reds and blues! ---but that pink is cool too in the smaller one. :)
Titled: Variations on a Circle

Titled: Six People

I never did tell you guys...but I lost Zulu a few months back. (my Beta Fish) so yesterday I went out and bought another one. I named him Bernard. He's all red with some iridescent blue on his body. I forgot to transfer the picture of him for you to see :( I know, sorry. But anyway. He's sitting here in a tiny bowl on my desk at work and looks pretty happy. I think he's smiling right now...lol!
Hey! Do chickens think rubber humans are funny?
Happy Friday all!

I'm not awake yet..I slept like crap. It's so hot here! (Yesterday 106) so I'm a grumpy bingbong today. I don't do well without sleep. I'm a big baby. Anyway, I'm not going to even try and think of something entertaining to tell you (right now anyway) Be glad.
So here's a pretty picture for you all. These roses are from a picture I took at Capital Nursrey a few months back. It's a "Peace" rose. That's what I want Peace and quiet...so I can take a nappy at my desk. :)
Happy Thursday all,
Lo**

Well, I finished this commission (last night at midnight) for a really nice guy (Hi Ken!) that bought my "Not Much Green" from the artshow I had in Feb. He wanted it in the similiar style...so hopefully he will like this one too! I'll meet him on my lunch hour and show him.
This is a shot of it before I added the beads to it...yes...beads... :)

Framed...

It's gonna be hot today...low 100's, so I decided to make something in Mrs. Spanky Pot today so I wouldn't heat up the house more cooking dinner. Pork Loins...(How did your mystery meat come out the other day Erikie?) lol!
Here's a little story---it's sounds like something I would do.
"My sister was flying through my town the other day with her new fiance. I hadn't seen her in a year or so and she asked me to make "italian beef" in the crockpot. She loves the stuff and it was her fiance's favorite. I put all the ingredients in before work and wouldn't see it again until i picked up my sis at the airport. i have been cooking for a long time, so i made sure that the lid was on snuggly and that the pot was plugged in. i made sure i didn't forget anything. before i went to work i even double checked to see if the crock pot was warm...everything was fine. i was so excited when i saw my sis and her soon to be husband...i couldn't wait to get home to the aromas of slow cooked beef and spices..plus they were starving to death and couldn't wait. when i opened the door to the house...immediately i new i had failed. no smell. no lovely aroma of fresh basil and oregano. i ran to the kitchen and the crockpot was hot, the light was on, but the removeable dish insert was sitting nice as you please on the counter next to the crock heating element...lid was secure...all ingredients waiting to be cooked. we had chinese."
Ok...
Happy whatever day it is today! (I'm tired) :(

Lo**
While at the Borders Books the other day...I got a couple cd’s, one being Eva Cassidy’s “Imagine.” and the other was a 2 cd set of a series of different artists...kinda more meditative type music from the Hearts of Space Series. Anyway, I have another one of Eva’s CD’s (“Songbird” REALLY good!!) But on this “Imagine” one it has that old song “Fever” and it just gives me goosebumps everytime she sings it (especially in a few parts...) Her voice is just absolutely amazing. It’s such a shame she died really young (only 33)
I found a site that lets you listen to some of her songs...and "Fever” is there, but of course it only lets you listen to a few seconds of the song, then it fades off...
BTW: I have to thank Mr. Kephart for pointing out Eva's music to me--- Thank you Joe! And welcome back from your vacation...looks like you had fun.
Over at Mandarin Design I saw this cool little thing. It's called typogenerator lets you enter text and then creates random effects for your text and images. Once you create your image just right-click to save it. Try it!!
LilJif (Jennifer Jacobsen) invited Kip and I to go to her art show this Saturday! She will have some of her art in Izzy's Mini VAN-GO Gallery. :)
Thank you Jennifer. I would love to go...and meet you finally, but I can't :( unless I can get out of babysitting Clancy dog...which I promised my parents I would do about three weeks ago :(
So Jenn, someday we'll meet up. Just like Erikie and I will meet someday and the DanMan and I will have to meet too... and Kitty and Joe, Ray, Sheila, Edee, Jenny, Lea, Barbara, Bran, Lililoo, Carrie, Leanne, Teresa, and my two Annies!...I know I'm forgetting someone. :(
I totally forgot that it was the Second Saturday Art Walk weekend! I also will be missing the Buddhist Bazaar! (Well, it will be still happening on Sunday too) but I love going to that on Saturday night. I am so mad I got my dates messed up because that would have been such an excellent evening out...Art and food and music and tons of people and colors and cold beer and teriyaki smells and art again...and more food...saki...and geez.... I'm all bummed now.
I've gotta get back to work.
Have a great Tuesday all!
Lo**
May I introduce to you...my new kitchen helper...drumroll.... Mrs. Spanky New White 6 qt. Crokpot! lol!! Sorry...I know this is kind of a lame blog entry picture to start out your Monday. :) but, it was either this, or a close up view of a rose hip that has spider webs on it :) aren't you happy now?

Oops, I have to go now. I just rubbed my eyes after putting on peppermint and citrus lotion on my hands augh!!! I can't see!!
Happy New Crockpot Monday :)
Lo**
I bought this mug ($5 bucks) yesterday while Kip and I were shopping around at Borders Books. Kip was using up his gift certificate I gave him for his birthday on an art book he's had his eye on...we also had a 20% off Border's Coupon! We saved a whoppin' $4.60 lol!!!

I also bought this book for only $3.99! Yea me! Yep...it too was on sale :) It has a bunch of wrapping paper in it by various artists :)

See?
The sheets tear out...and you get two each of six really neat patterns--- The sheets are big too!

I got my begonias and ferns planted yesterday too. I hope they do ok in this tub.

Then we went out to the computer store to look at notebook computers (for me) and digital camera for Kip. I saw one that looked pretty nice. It was the Toshiba Satellite Notebook S206 and was on sale for $1149.00. Anyone have an recomendations on any others?
Ok Back to Ken's commission!! ---yep, almost done :) :)....that deserves a double smiley face I think.
I hope you are all having a great Sunday.

Morning All,
I'm going to be finishing up this commission piece (below) this weekend and starting on another. I also have another watercolor going (I'll show you a progress pic soon) that I might be entering into the W.A.S.H. Art Show at the end of the month.

I framed Erikies Plein Air oil painting I traded her for...and I think it looks pretty snazzy up on my studio wall huh? I have to lower it a little though... Like it Erikie? (FYI: It's the bottom right landscape one)

I picked up my painting and Kip's two paintings (finally) that were in the Art show in Fair Oaks this past month. While I was there I snapped a few pictures of this place next door that has a bunch of kinetic sculptures....aren't they neat? It's kinda hard to really see what they look like...ummm...now that I see my pictures it looks like a big tangled mess lol!

Then I wanted to show you this fun Girlie Girl tape that Annie from Michigan sent to me! TY again:)---I don't wanna use up any of it though!!! :P

And here's my funky wooden box purse that I decided to take to the Bistro when we had dinner there on Wed. Kip said it looked like a painters palette box or something...Yes, I got numerous comments on it. I like the fakey gold coins that are glued to it :)

I bought a couple pieces of art art the current show that's at the Coffee Works this month. It's artwork by Adults with Disabilities. I should go by a take a couple pics of the two pieces I bought, since the show will be up until Sept. 2 and I'd like to show you guys.
Anyway, I got a small one ($15.00) and a kinda big one ($60.00) the big one I will take down to work, because it's colorful and cheery. The smaller one is made up of 4 postcard type panels of plexiglass that have been painted on the backside...and ...well, you have to just see it...it's nice too :)
When I was at Trader Joes Thursday night I bought these two large Begonias for only $3.99 each! Then on Friday At Target I bought the two smaller ferns. I have this plastic grey tub (that looks like metal) that I'm going to poke holes in the bottom of (drainage) and plant the begon's and ferns in it. :)

Kip and I are taking off soon to go to Borders Books, the Art Supply store and a few other places--- so I need to pop off now.
I leave you with a few pictures of my back patio garden :)

Have a great Saturday all!
Lo**
Hey Everyone!!! I finally got my act together and have a few sets of my "Girlie Girls" Series all ready to sell. They are $40.00 per set of 10 cards with envelopes and come in that clear box down there...with a foo-foo sheer ribbon. :) Here's the page where you can see them better.

Personal checks or Paypal are groovie with me. If you have any questions, just lay them on me sista's and brutha's :) I think you'll be very happy with the quality. :) Ok...that's it for my self-promotion for the day!
Have a nice evening all!
Lo**
Good Morning :)---Have a great day everyone! Talk to you all later...I can't think of anything to blab about at the moment. I'm sure I will later though :) bye!

(Since Erikie asked)----with the Shrimp Quesidillas I made last Wednesday night, I had to make a couple Margarita's to go along with them--so here you go.

Doesn't that look yummie? I needed a lime though :(
Lo**
Happy Monday Everyone!! :) It was an absoultely gorgeous day outside today here in Sac. It didn't start out that way though...it was overcast and very cool. Around noon the sun broke through....so I decided to go to lunch someplace different, instead of just warming up a Lean Cusiune and eatting it at my desk. I'm glad I decided to get away from the office, and go someplace I haven't been to in a long time---it was a VERY nice change of pace.
Speaking of food...:) I wanted to show you some Shrimp quesidillas I made the other night. They are pretty easy...I screwed up one part ---see if you can spot my mistake?
Yes!! A test!!!
First I dumped a pound of shrimp into a large saute pan and added tub of fresh mild salsa (1-1/2cups or so) a 1/2 cup of Italian salad dressing, a cup or so of red onions and some fresh cilantro. I sauted it for about 3-4 mins then transferred it to a bowl. If you don't want to make quesidillas...in my opinion I think this shrimp (with the sauce) would taste great over some jasmine rice :) Don't you think?

K...see my mistake yet??? no? (catch up!--jk)

Wipe the saute pan you just cooked the shrimp in and spray it with some oil, and add one of those large flavored flour wrap tortillas. (I used a Garlic Spinach one.) Sprinkle some grated mexican cheese on it --heat on medium.

Spoon some of the shrimp on one half of the tortilla....and fold it over when it's golden brown.

Remove from pan and add some shredded lettuce and some more fresh cilantro and some fresh lemon or lime juice if you want...

Cut into wedges and serve :) SEE? Very easy.

Ok, my mistake was I forgot to remove the tails from the shrimp!!! :( I know duh...so anyway, I had to do that before I spooned them into the tortilla :P
Ok That's it! Have a great Monday everyone...I'm off to jump in the spa to soak for a bit. :) do I hear an awwwwwwwww...nice and hot, ya it is :)

Good Morning all.
Here's a few pics I took at the McKinley Park duck pond yesterday...while I was out and about trying to track down a store for my vacuum cleaner bags. (no I never found any)
I loved the colors in this shot--- see that pale green color on one of the geeses chest ...nice huh? Here's a really big shot of another dude swimmin'.

It was a very pretty day here in Sacramento...in the 80's...a slight breeze.

Here's a large view of the pond. It might take a minute to load...but it's worth the peek :)
I'm either going to lock myself up in my studio all day and paint or go for a drive. either way, I'm just going to have a low-key day. (I hope)
Have a good day all,
Lo**
