My World & Yours Art

Here's another painting (we saw at the Crocker Art Museum) that was done in the 1954 by the artist Irving Norman. You can see the scale of it in this first shot...but wait until you see how detailed it is up close. ((YES! Please DON'T bail on this blog entry))...because you will be amazed. The subject matter is ummm.. ((heavy?)) but just look at the detail for a sec. t's just unbelieveable.

Titled: "My World and Yours (And The Gods Created The World in Their Own Image)."

About the Artist.

About the piece. (again...I'm sorry the text is so blurry in my picture)

Here's another full view shot.

Ok, now a few close-ups...

Can you find these gals legs in the big (overall view?) TRY!! It's hard to find.

This is a closeup of the center area...

So...what do you think? Pretty darn detailed egh?

People stood in front of this painting for the longest time...even longer than the "Portrait of my Father" one I showed you all yesterday. Both Kip and I were shocked that it was done over 50 years ago, because it looks like something outta "Juxtapoz" magazine today! Doesn't it?

Irving Norman's Website...(a must to check out)

Have a nice Thursday all!

Whoooo... I'm just going to have to put the Crocker on the 'Must See' list the next trip north. I'll have to stash the family somewhere, but I definitely want to spend some time there...

Thanks again Lori.
This is ART.
The work of this painter reminds me of Hieronymus Bosch who lived in my hometown around 1500 and M.C.Escher.
I cannot imagine my live without ART.
