Portrait of My Father

Hi All!
Ok here's a few more pics from our trek out to the Crocker Art Museum on Sunday.

You have to READ this first...so the pictures make sense ok? (Sorry the text is kinda blurry)

I will just show you the pictures of this amazing painting...

Close Ups

Neat huh?

So what do you guys think? Could you paint on a painting for 7 years (especially one of your Father after a stroke?)

Others' thoughts...

A slow quiet "wow"....

The close up blew me away. I went back and looked again at the whole painting...based on this photo it looks as though I can see his spirit quietly escaping from his pores.

I can see why it could take seven years. I don't think I would have the patience.

wow again.

I'm with Dander: one very slow, quiet "wow".

Thank you, Lo!

This painting took my breath away.
There are no words to describe my feelings.
This is an Angelic Painting.

All I could think of was: underneith our breath of life....are forever moving colors of aliveness.

That is one amazing painting.......

Thank you!!!!

Wow, that is wonderful, I would love to see it in person. His vision was incredible and must have been very clear to stick with it for 7 years. He saw past his grief to the essense of life.

Wow!

I had Steve Kaltenbach for an art gallery management class at Sac State. He was a very INTERESTING individual.

He took our class on a field trip to see this piece during its 7 year beginning, I think I saw it in 1982-83 located in a huge barn in Yolo County.

Incredibly huge and lovely.
