Hi Gang!
First, I wanted to thank everyone that popped into the EBSQ Chat Room last night to see my Live Watercolor Demonstration. I really appreciated the big turn out! I think at one point there were 28 people there!
I'm sorry if I didn't get a chance to answer all your questions, but it got pretty wild afterwards--- Geez, I couldn't type my responses back fast enough. Anyway, for those of you who missed it, it will be archived on the EBSQ Site (in the Zine) next month.
Here's the painting I did for my demo. It's also listed right now on eBay HERE.

Now that my Demo is done, I can get back to painting on "Mr. Large FooMan!" in fact, tonight I think I will dedicate my evening to just painting and watching American Idol! Now that's what I call a rip-roarin' evening.
Oh! I have this recipe I found on "The Farmers Almanac Website." I really wanted to try it out---actually went out and got the ingredients and everything...then my oven died. So anyway, I will pass it on to you guys. Someone make it please and tell me how it comes out?
EASY HONEY-NUT COFFEE CAKE
2 tbsp. margarine or butter
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup chopped nuts
1 package refrigerated biscuits
Set the oven to 425 degrees F. Place the margarine or butter, honey and nuts into an 8-inch plan and warm in the oven until the margarine or butter melts. Arrange the biscuits in the pan and bake for 12-16 minutes. Turn upside down and wait a minute before removing the pan. Serve warm.

See? sounds easy huh.
Also, when I bought the stuff to make it, I didn't know which type of refrigerator biscuits to buy? I ended up getting those buttermilk ones. Do you think thats what they meant? Anyway, I was tempted to get the ones that have swirls of cinnamon in them. (((yum))
See ya!

Whew... I am sooooo glad to hear the demonstration will be available next month. I am watching my 15 month old grandson while mom is having a brother for him and boy is he a handfull... as a result I missed your demo. I was disappointed, to say the least. I'm so relieved it will be available later. Thank you.
Posted by: Dander on April 12, 2005 12:58 PMHmmmm.... Maybe some cinnamon?
Posted by: dan on April 12, 2005 01:38 PMOh Lori, that painting is just wonderful! Glad the demo went well, sorry I couldn't be there :-(
The coffee cake sounds good, will have to give it a go sometime.
Have fun painting tonight.
Lolo... the demo was great! But I forgot to ask: when you use Black acrylic for backgrounds what kind to consistancy do you dilute it to? Do you just use water or a medium?
Tonight I'm gonna practice those transitional washes... yours are so fluid!
Thanks for the demo!
Carolyn
Thank You Sheila :) and Carolyn, I dilute the acrylic with water to a thin pancake batter consistancy.
Posted by: Lo** on April 12, 2005 05:13 PMEven with eyeballs on the cheeksbone, I enjoyed the whole process....but, Boy, one had to be alert....that was a fast demo!!! I loved the pictures that went with it. It was fun to watch your process from beginning to end.
Posted by: Edee on April 12, 2005 05:26 PMYour demo rocked last night, yes it did get pretty wild. Do I hear watercolor demo part 2 coming? part 3?
Hope your night is going well. :)

Posted by: Joe on April 12, 2005 08:53 PMWelcome Home (for awhile) Edee! Thanks for stopping by the chat last night I know you were suffering with major eyeball hangin' on cheeks jet lag coming home from France only the day before? Geez, I would be have been a noodle ---so Thank You!
Hi Joe! No More LIVES for this chick! I mean two is enough-don't you think? (I do) I don't wanna wear out my EBSQ welcome. Thanks for not asking why I don't use sausages to paint with :P~
Posted by: Lo** on April 12, 2005 09:12 PMI remembered the demo- 30 minutes before it was supposed to start and then I proceeded to forget all about it. POO!
I'm so ticked off that I missed it.
Oh well... I'll just have to use my imagination.
:0)
Lori, I usually use Crescent rolls for a lot of those types of recipes. You roll them out.. OH, but they say "biscuits" - whoops, sorry. But my mom used to make something very similar with the crescent rolls - called them Walnut Squares, or somethin like that.
