Good Morning everyone.
(Kip and I went to a few of the Second Saturday Art Gallery openings last night, just two galleries actually.) For some reason we both were kinda tired or something and came home earlier than normal.
Two of my watercolor paintings were at the Sacramento Fine Arts Center Members Show. One of the artists that helps the judge said my watercolor "Eve" just missed out on getting an award. :( He said the judge circled it on her list, but then it wasn't picked in the end. Hey! Now that I think about it, maybe he was telling that to ALL the artists. lol!
Edee was asking how this EBSQ Live Chat Room thing works for my up coming watercolor demo tomorrow night. K, this is what you do:
1.) First you have to go to the EBSQ site HERE and register to get your user name and password to login to the chat. (It's free)
2.) Then once you do that you wait for the page to load (you'll see a coffee cup graphic) and it'll say Loading Movie...
3.) If that doesn't show then you need to download FLASH. (there's a link for you)
4.) Then it will say Loading Rooms....
5.) You'll see a list of 4 chat rooms (Be patient, on dialup it can take awhile for this to all load up)
6.) Then you'll see the third chat room is called EBSQ Live! (Thats the one you click on)
7.) It'll say "Entering Room" and you'll see a window pop up with a bunch of other names off to the right hand side (those are the people currently in the chat room)
8.) You'll see your name pop up in that window as well. People will see your name and will prolly say Hi!!
9.) You type what you want to say in the little area at the bottom. You'll see a blinking cursor (if you wanna join in that is)
10.) TIP: You can't talk during the LIVE ---ya, your yapper has to be quiet til the end of the demo. (Just the way it works for these deals) But you can come earlier (before 6pm PST or 9pm EST) because we all chit chat BEFORE the Live Demo starts. After the demo is over it's an all out free-for-all chat fest of questions, answers and mindless blab. It's very fun!
See? Pretty easy egh?
Guess what?
I was doing a search on Google and typed in "EBSQ Live" and then I clicked on Google "images." and all these thumbnail pics of past EBSQ Live demos popped up. You'll see Joe's on Photoshop (and his cute lil' Grandma too!) and I think the charcoal drawing of those old hands? Might be Erikies? (I mean not HER hands...well, you know.)
But you know what was a crack up? For some reason pictures of my Tater Tot Casserole were sprinkled through the art images as well! lol! Where'd they come from?!!! :)
Ok Gang- I'm going to get busy on finalizing all the dribble I typed out yesterday for my demo, then hopfully try and list a couple things on ebay.
Have a great Sunday!

Hi Lolo, one of the Bing Bongs here,
Just dropping in to say that I am shocked that the judge didn't give your piece an award, drat!
Hope your Sunday is a nice one and that the chat went well. Sorry I couldn't be there.

And yes, those Photoshop ones are Joe's. It's going to be a cool LiveStudio tomorrow! YAY!
By the way, did you see I won in the EBSQ Self Portrait show? Does that mean all 3 artists won and I get 1/3 the prize? I don't want to share :p lol
Posted by: erikie parikie on April 10, 2005 01:48 PMErikie.........that self portrait is AWESOME!!!
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! and ya shouldn't have to share.....nope, not at all.
YAY! Congrats Erikie on winning the self-portrait show!!!
Posted by: LO** on April 10, 2005 07:55 PMHey Lo :) I will be there too. But....question...I'm confused...if I see the coffee cup graphic, does that mean I have to flash? Or, I'm supposed to be getting flashed?
lol!!!! (sorry)
K...best of luck to you tomorrow night. I know it will go well.
-Joe
Thanks Edee and thank Lo! :)
Hey Joe, last one to get the bat avatar is a dodo bird :P
Posted by: erikie parikie on April 10, 2005 08:39 PMLol Joe! NO FLASHING! This is a LIVE Watercolor Demonstration not a Kephart Family Get-together :)
Do-Do Bird :)
You can have the Bat Avatar Erikie... I think Joe usually picks the Homer Simpson one, but just save me that cute lil' Gumby.
LOL I just said that because Joe had the bat last time >:D Guess you usually get the bat? Do presenters use avatars? If so, please resume your bat girl character ;)
Posted by: erikie parikie on April 11, 2005 12:35 PMYour demo was awesome and your piece rocks!!! Sorry I couldn't stay and chat, still packing and furiously preparing for the tax man in CA xox

Posted by: Kristen on April 11, 2005 07:55 PMThanks for coming to my LIVE Demo you guys!!! I think there were like 28 people there! ((so exciting)) and Erikie, I know you are trying to pack for your trip. So thanks sweetie for stopping in.
And Lili? You and your Kidlets too-glad you were there, it made me smile seeing all my friends pop in :)
Kristen, Yes! it will be archived in the EBSQ Zine next month...along with all the other LIVES that have been done before mine.

You were wonderful last night on EBSQ live.
I love your art. Continued success.

:( i missed it. i had made a mental note, but for some reason i was thinking it would be to-night (Tues) and so i happily made my way over to baseball, instead. i'm sorry, Lo!
re: Eve -- with the level of detail you put into her, it is a real bummer the judge didn't give her the prize. ;) your watercolors are so minute, so controlled, richly detailed. i think this is one of the things that set you apart from other artists.

Posted by: bran on April 12, 2005 07:27 AMI missed it toooooo! ;0( Darn darn darn...
