Happy Striped Sockies Tuesday! Like these? I bought them yesterday at Target. I bought three pairs of wild socks (these being my favorites) Do I look like I have referee legs? Hey? did the Wicked Witch of the West have striped socks on like this when the house crashed down on her and her legs shirveled up? I can't remember... Check these socks out! I want a pair of those Tartan Tights at the bottom! (k...maybe not...)
I'm sitting in my office eatting a nice hot bowl of Vegetable Tortellini Soup that I made on Sunday night in my crockpot. It came out so so...(I will show the recipe with pics tonight.)
Things I would change would be to add another can of corn, use chicken broth vs. vegetable broth and add another 9oz package of the tortellini....I know that doesn't really make sense at the moment, since you don't know the original recipe. Anyway, it's a VERY healthy soup....so of course I had to add a ton of fresh grated parmesan cheese to the top and some garlic bread with it, to unhealth-a-fy it a bit.
Oh here..I found a recipe thats similar to the one I made (except mine didn't have the beans)
K, I better finish eatting and get back to work. Bye all!

Wowzerz! Those striped stockings sure are fun! (Check out those GAMS!)
To answer your Wiz-of-OZ question: Yes, the wicked witch did have striped stockings.

I can't paint, but I can cook and I know about wine! My tortellini soup comes out great and you don't even need a crock pot. Not much different from yours, except what makes it tasty is one good sized hot Italian sausage (the ones in Corti's deli are perfect). Saute that up with at least 1/2 onion and some portabella mushrooms & zucchini. Then add whatever else you like. I use chicken broth, tomatoes, frozen Italian green beans (or a handful of fresh regular beans), crushed tomatoes (I like those petite diced ones with oregano). When I want to be healthy I cut up some rainbow Swiss chard. Add some spices (Italian seasonings or just oregano & basil or fresh if you have them). You can use tortellini or bow ties. The hot sausage makes it really flavorful, and this one comes together quickly, and you could throw all but the pasta in the crock pot if you want. Garlic bread goes great with it (and a salad). Be sure to have a glass of full-bodied red wine--Chianti, Zin, Barbera or Syrah--any of those would be great (I usually add about 1/2 cup to the soup while it's simmering)

Posted by: Ladybug on January 11, 2005 03:38 PMHi Lo, nice stripies! I'll let you borrow my tartans ;)
Veggie tortellini soup....came out so-so? Are you slipping? Wha? Only so-so? Well....it happens to the best of us. I was making homemade pizza the other night...and it came out kinda...ah...so-so also. I think I was distracted by the tartans ;)
But strangely...while wearing them, I did feel kinda manly...in a lumber jacky...plaid-y...sort of way....kinda....
