Art Festival 04

It was a beautiful weekend here in Sacramento. V and I went to the Convention Center to see the Art Festival. Each artist space was set up very creatively. One gal that sold earrings had them displayed on standing wood shutters. Another guy that sold beautiful copper and brass doorknobs, doorbell ringers, and wall switch plates set up a garden umbrella and his whole space kinda had the "Arts and Crafts Mission style outdoor garden feel." (lol!)

Its really a big deal...I mean how your booth is set up. I couldn't take closeup pictures of the art...(except I kinda did with this guys glass work) but I took a few general crowd shots and misc. shots.

One of my favorite artists was this gal Barbara Sebastian. Her booth was simple clean and white and her display of these cool little porcelain fetish jars was really nice!

Here's a cool old painters box....I loved the duck tape on the leg of the stool it was plopped on, and the little handmade brush holder.

I bought this purse that has vintage barkcloth fabric on one side and velvet on the other (yep it's reversable...and washable too :)

If your interested...I listed another watercolor on ebay HERE.

This weekend is the second Saturday Art walk...I'm going to meet LilJif! and see her art in the "Mini Van Go" Right Jenn? I hope to anyway :)

More later...

Hey Lo! Gooten scratchin' (Erika taught me that) :) k...not.

That painters box is practically a piece of art in itself.

Hey! I have that same purse!! Lol!!! It goes with my matching jacket. :) and wooo...you should see how the heads turn when I'm wearing it. (K...so their heads turn the opposite direction.

(Yes I made all that up!!!!! Geez....I don't want anyone to get the wrong idea)

Dan? Save me bro.

Hi Erikie! Yes it is a soft cuddly purse. I could stuff it with a sweater and have a soft velvety pillow for naptime at work? No?

Joe...I told you to get the olive green one NOT the black one like mine---geez--- Catch up! (jk)

Neat art show and pics!

Regarding your question about second Sat.

I'll be there on 2oth st. between "I" St. and "J" St. at 6:00 pm this Sat. for an hour or so. (look for the van) Then will hit the road to other locations such as The Toy Room Gallery and the Horse Cow Gallery etc.

I'll be sharing guacamole and corn chips along with TJ's 2buck chuck and sparkling apple cider and an accordian player. The theme is: kistchy(sp.)novel, funky, 'Dia de los Muertos' stuff. Like you said...kinda like a bizarre. I really wish I had a mule and a cart to sell my wares in. Maybe next Second Sat.? I hear there are lots of artists set up along selling there goods along 2oth st. now.

I just recently started selling elaborately decorated ginger bread cookies (pieces of edible art) at a local cafe in Woodland. The Fat Cat Cafe. It's really Cute and needs some art to put up on its walls for next month. Call Edna about it. (really!)She is the owner, and would love to have your art on the walls; So would I. 530-661 6113. or do you have other artist friends that would be interested? I have use of fat Cat's certified kitchen to bake my stuff in. (yay! It's legal now.) I want to sell my cookies and other printed art materials and ornaments and such at the Farmer's market in S.F. and other higher-end venues. I called the Davis Farmer's market and they wanna see my stuff too! Wish me luck.

I'm going to try to remember to bring the Peter Max puzzle I promised you. K? ;o)

Thanks, Lo,

see ya soon!

No help here, Joe: I got caught carrying Shelley's purse to her at school the other day when she forgot it. I almost pulled it off, but it was a brown purse and I'd worn my black shoes!
