Seattle 4 Thanksgiving!

Well, Hi all! I’m almost done with Ray’s commission watercolor of Janice, (his lovely wife) but tonight I’m not going to show you any progress shot. I will just show you it when it’s all done ok?

Anyway, I’m very happy to say that a couple days ago I booked a flight for Kip and I and my Mother-In-Law to go see my Brother-In-Law in Seattle, Washington during Thanksgiving. Whee! 9 whole days gone!---and also I took an additional few days off work on top of that which make it a 16 days off! I know...OMG!!!

The last time I was in Seattle was about ---geez-- 7-8 years ago maybe? and that was for my BIL’s wedding. So anyway, I hope to go to Pikes Place Market (I’ve never been there) to buy some stuff to cook for Thanksgiving dinner and just to shop around in general :) ---as well as visit a few art galleries in Seattle maybe during the time we are there.

Depending on the weather, Kip wants to do some golfing with his brother and we want to maybe take the ferry to Whidbey Island again for lunch or something? We did that last time we were there, and really thought that was fun---I mean the ferry ride was very cool :) ---and obviously we will enjoy being with my cute nieces that are 6 years old and 13?

Kip’s Mom and I will prolly go antique shopping a few days...and you know just veg around the house.

What everyone is expecting from our visit is MY FAMOUS SMOKED TURKEY!!! yes! I make it every year and my B-I-L loves it!---well, everyone loves it :)

It’s going to be a really fun trip I can’t wait!!

Bye!

That sounds like it's going to be a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday! I was JUST in Seattle to visit MY sister in law, I love it there. I hope the holiday rejuvenates you, not that you need rejuvenation or anything.
Can't wait to see the completed 'Janice'!!

I'm a regular reader of your blog - luv your artwork, btw.

Can you tell us? What is on your computer monitor?? Is that a screen saver or wallpaper?

thanks

Oh yeah....forgot to mention that I like your old-fashioned rabbit eared t.v.

Yes! LilJif! I am quite jazzed to go to Seattle again too. I mentioned to Kip tonight that we need to get some art (Promo) flyers put together so we can drop them off around at the various galleries in Seattle. I would love to have our work in a gallery up there. How's your Van-Go show? Is it still gonna be in October?
Also my candles are on a tray that has these cute little birdies painted on it actually :) I'll show you.

You have such a cozy art room Lo :) How do you keep it so neat? lol

How fun! THanksgiving in Seattle! I've been there once but went straight to the shores. I can't believe you are allowed to drive on the sand over there. So I guess technically, I haven't seen Seattle :(

Ohhh it was you and not Kip who smoked the turkey! I'm so tempted to do that this year! I may just do it - thanks so much for posting that recipe again! YUMMMM!!!!

Hi Lo: I hope you share with us what you and your MIL find in the way of antiques when you get back from Seattle. 16 days, oh my!!!

Who did the painting there above your finger puppets? It's great; so is the one facing it on the other wall, by the same person?

BTW couldn't find ANY finger puppets at the Grange Fair this year. Booooo... I've got one more crazy-stuff shop to check and will let you know if I find any.

Have fun looking forward to that 16 days!

P.S. You listed a link above to your czech pottery collection. Does anyone know why my computer refuses to highlight the link and highlights the whole page instead no matter what I do? California Dan, are you out there - maybe you know?

Annie: triple click on the link to just select it, verses wanding through the link. :)

I wanna see your (promo) flyers! It would be great to see your stuff hanging on Seattle's walls. YOur tray sounds beautiful. I love trays.

My Oct. 9th Mini Van-Go show is a go! (so far)

BTW, The young 30 yr-old Jennifer who had the stroke, (Izzy's relative) didn't make it. She was unplugged about a week ago. :0( Sad sad sad sad sad.

Erikie...Of course I cleaned up my desk area before taking a picture! :)

Jif,
Kip and I will definately come see your art at the Mini Van-Go Show! (and hope to meet you too!)

Sure... if I actually get a promo flyer slapped together I'll post it so you can see it. Joe did a very cool one, so I'll probably be stealing his idea. (Is that ok Joe?)

Really sad news about Izzy's relative :(

Well Hi Lo!!!! K...so I'm posting this a bit late. When you come up, you have so got to check out the market!! Actually I can give you the lowdown. K....heres your check list.
1) rain coat
2) comfortable walking shoes
3) come hungry...or with the munchies
4) bring camera
5) prepare to possibly be smooshed by crowd.
6) consider bringing flannel to fit in. :)
7) Learn the phrase, "Throw that fish!"
8) Bring quarter for Elvis fortune telling machine.

ah....thats all I can think of right now. I'm sure I will come up with more vital information in the future. ;)

-Joe

Thanks for the Late Tips Joe!

I'm not sure I want to wear flannel (but I'll bring some--maybe I force Kip to wear it lol!!!) I keep forgetting it's going to be cold there (California girl mentality) I mean Nov. in Seattle? will there be snow you think? or just your famous rain?

My sister actually lived in WA. for a few years and said her walls got all moldy...sounds just lovely :P

Hey! I want to buy fish!!! I wish I could have some shipped home. Maybe they do that? Dry ice You think?

Also any cool Seattle Galleries Kip and I could go visit?
